About Bluvali

Located in the picturesque Finger Lakes region of central New York, Bluvali is a small kennel that began with the acquisition of the Basset Hound Musicland's Baby Doll, CD in 1974, followed by Ch Musicland's Ravishing Ruby in 1976. In the late 1980s the Tibetan Terrier and future champion Abbey's Orient Express arrived, followed by the Tibetan Spaniel Kinderhof's Bluvali Eurosha. Their arrivals began our journey away from Basset Hounds and into Tibetans.

Credentials & Achievements

Bluvali is proud to be a Tibetan Terrier Club of America Register of Merit Breeder as well as an AKC Gold Breeder of Merit. In addition to actively breeding and exhibiting, Margie was an AKC approved judge of seven hound breeds and four non-sporting breeds as well as junior showmanship. Margie has had the pleasure of judging the Tibetan Terrier, Tibetan Spaniel and Basset Hound nationals in the USA, as well as in Canada and Argentina.

With limited breeding, Bluvali has produced over 100 AKC champions as well as obedience, rally, and tracking titleholders.

Health & Breeding Standards

In striving for excellent conformation and temperament, Bluvali performs all breed-appropriate health testing. Tibetan Terriers have OFA-cleared hips, annual CERF clearances, and are DNA tested for DM, NCL, PLL, PRA3 and PRA4.

Puppies are born and raised in a large country kitchen and are highly socialized beginning at three days of age using the early socialization intervention described by Dr. Carmen Battaglia. When pups leave, they have been vet checked, microchipped, wormed, and have had at least one DHPP booster.

Puppies and younger adults are available from time to time.
