The Tibetan Terrier is an ancient breed originating in the Lost Valley of Tibet, where they were treasured as good luck charms and companions by Tibetan monks. Despite the name, they are not true terriers — they were never used to go to ground. Instead, they are a medium-sized, agile, and hardy companion breed with a profuse double coat that protected them from the harsh Tibetan climate.
Known for their loyalty, intelligence, and gentle nature, Tibetan Terriers make wonderful family companions. They are sensitive, adaptable, and thrive on human connection.
All Bluvali Tibetan Terriers are AKC-registered and undergo comprehensive health testing including OFA hip clearances, annual CERF eye clearances, and DNA testing for NCL, PLL, and late-onset PRA. Puppies are raised in our home and socialized from three days of age.
